Job Description

  • Manage all key performance indicators (KPis)  for hardline items at Daiso and MaxValu.
  • Manage sales, margin, GP I%, turnover days and inventory value.
  • Reduce slow-moving inventory. Secure best-selling items.
  • Inventory management.
  • Inter-store inventory adjustment and transfer process management.
  • Product assortment analysis.
  • Explain merchandising plan to operations team.
  • Merchandising training to operations team.
  • Layout display training to operations team. I 0. Market and competitor  research.
  • Product assortment  analysis.
  • Monitor  inventory  levels and plan purchases within budget.
  • Negotiate  with suppliers and agree price, quantity and delivery  date. I4. Adjust product offering  based on customer  feedback and behavior.
  • Create and maintain  rough plan.
  • Other Duties
  • Participate in company  events  such  as stock take, tree planting,  and other Corporate Social
  • Responsibility as assigned.
  • To maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene and adhere to the Company standards.
  • To provide friendly, courteous, and professional service always.
  • To maintain good working relationships with colleagues and all other departments.
  • To read  the  Employee  Handbook  and  understand  and  adhere  to the company’s rules  and regulations  and  in particular,  the policies  and  procedures  relating  to Fire, Hygiene,  Health, and Safety.
  • To attend training sessions and meetings as and when required.

Job Requirement

  • Bachelor’s  Degree in business, marketing,  retail, or a related field may be preferred.
  • Previous experience in merchandising or retail preferred.
  • Working knowledge  of  financial  reporting  principles  and  strong  numerical  and  analytical skills.
  • Computer literacy and knowledge  of basic word-processing tools
  • Knowledge of sales and marketing principles
  • Strong organizational and decision-making skills.
  • Able to manage suppliers and vendors and conduct staff training.
  • Good communication skills, both written, verbal and listening.
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure environment.
  • Good creativity and ability to innovate.
  • Strong interpersonal  skills in working with team members, and suppliers.
  • Strong negotiation  skills to work with suppliers and make better deals for the company.
  • Good attention to detail to ensure all purchase orders are accurate.
  • Ability to work with a team.
