AEON 1% Club Foundation donated ¥63,624,224 in support of the AEON UNICEF Safe Water Campaign 2025

On Tuesday, August 12, 2025, AEON 1% Club Foundation (hereinafter, the Foundation) held a donation ceremony for the “AEON UNICEF Safe Water Campaign 2025” in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, and donated the donations and contributions from the Foundation to Cambodia and Laos.

In some areas, such as Cambodia, children are unable to attend school due to the time it takes to fetch water from distant locations. Furthermore, securing clean water is difficult, leading to the use of unsanitary pond water and groundwater containing substances that may be harmful to health.

The Foundation has been running this campaign since 2010, believing that safe water is the foundation for protecting children’s lives and supporting their healthy growth.

We conducted the following campaign and donated a total of 63,624,224 yen (around $433,153) through the Japan Committee for UNICEF, a public interest incorporated foundation, combining donations of 31,812,112 yen (around $216,576) from customers with a contribution of 31,812,112 yen (around $216,576) from our foundation. The cumulative donation amount to date has exceeded approximately 707 million yen (around $4,813,256) and has been used for the construction and maintenance of water purification facilities, and the installation and distribution of water to homes in depopulated areas, enabling over 640,000 people to have access to safe water.

Our foundation will continue to support children in both education and health, thereby contributing to the healthy development of the children who will lead the next generation.

AEON Group opened AEON Mall Phnom Penh in 2014, and currently 3 shopping malls are operated. AEON Group established AEON1% Club in 1990 which take 1% of the profit for sale operation to contribute to the society based on three pillars: “Nourishment Health Care Children” “Build friendships with other countries” and “Contributing to local development”.

AEON 1% Club Foundation will continue to work in order to create a future lifestyle that leads to a smile for young generation.
