AEON’s Charity Program in Kampong Speu Province

AEON (Cambodia) Co., Ltd. organized a charity activity at a school in Kong Pisey District, Kampong Speu Province, which was previously funded by AEON, with support from AEON and the Japan Committee from UNICEF.

In the morning of 1st March 2025, the management teams and staffs of AEON (Cambodia) Co., Ltd. visited two primary schools (three buildings): Ang Tanlap Primary School and Ang Preah Srey Primary School in Kong Pisey District, Kampong Speu Province.

Through this charity program, AEON has donated school supplies, learning materials, gifts, and snacks to over 1,000 students and 37 teachers. In addition, AEON’s teams have engaged with the students for enjoyable activities, including a Japanese-inspired origami activity.

It should also be noted that AEON (Cambodia) Co., Ltd. has actively involved in supporting school construction and various charitable projects across Cambodia and Southeast Asia. As example, these school buildings, located in Kampong Speu Province, were the first school buildings that have been donated in Cambodia since 2002.

AEON has donated and constructed 151 school buildings until these days. Through these efforts, AEON (Cambodia) Co., Ltd. aims to play a meaningful role in promoting society growth and human resource development in Cambodia.

AEON visited the natural vegetable cultivation at Mondulkiri

AEON representatives and Green Gold Cambodian Agriculture visited the natural vegetable cultivation of farmers, vegetable packaging location, and quality control testing center at Mondulkiri Provincial Department of Agriculture

On July 14, 2023, Mr. Muri Akimi (ម៉ូរី អាគីហឺម៊ិ) representatives from ​AEON, Mr. Song Kheang, Director of the Provincial Department of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries, ​​following with Mrs. Bun Seang Director of Green Gold Cambodian Agriculture, visited farmers’ natural vegetable cultivation, vegetable packaging, and toxicology inspection sites at the Department of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries of Mondulkiri Province.

Organic Agricultural Products in AEON

AEON (General Merchandise Store) always supports local farmers and promotes local and organic agricultural products such as fresh vegetables, fruits, and meat by cooperating with local farmers to bring those products to sell in AEON stores.

We pay high attention to food safety and the quality of perishable items, and the health of our customers is our main priority. We source organic agricultural products in some provinces for sale and provide the customers with fresh vegetables, fruits, and meat at reasonable prices.

On February 22, 2023, AEON team visited an organic farm in Kampong Chhnang province,  supported by Natural Agriculture Village to ensure that all crops are grown in accordance with EU / USDA organic standards and do not affect to public health.

Mr. Mori Akifumi, Food Line Merchandising Senior General Manager, states that “Today, our FoodLine teams and I visited the farm in order to ensure all products are safe and grow in accordance with EU/USDA organic standards.” Hence, AEON customers are able to enjoy meals (also meat?) with safe vegetables.

At the same time, we also interviewed Ms. Bun Seang from Natural Agriculture Village. “Nowadays, we do not have  enough manpower to support all kinds of organic vegetables or fruits since it’s not a private farm”, she said. As a community, we collaborate with individual farmers family and have received support from GIZ, the main key to assisting with this, as well as the Ministry of Agriculture. A good quality organically grown vegetable or fruit that meets EU or USDA standards must have adequate water supply, natural fertilizer, and insect care.

She believes that being healthy is everything we need in the future, and understanding the value of healthy food as the vision of president of a natural agriculture village is our main goal. Finally, she would like to thank AEON for supporting local products and support farmers to continue growing all of the organic vegetables and fruits.

AEON Welcomed Seven Japanese Students from Japanese School of Phnom Penh

On 30th June and 01st July 2022, AEON welcomed seven secondary Japanese students from Japanese School of Phnom Penh (JSPP) for their visit at AEON Sen Sok City. The objectives of the 2-day visit are to let students experience daily in-store operation and allow them to expose to a real working environment and culture.

AEON Sen Sok City store management teams and staff shared work experience and daily operation process in store to the students. The students were divided into 3 different groups to visit 3 different business sections such as Grocery, Daily & Dairy and DAISO store. At each section, they had an opportunity to learn and observe some of operation tasks such as how to display products, how to check stocks, how to check expired products and how to maintain hygiene. The most important thing was that each student would understand about AEON principle always prioritize the concept of “Customer First” in every circumstance.

“Learning from the real working environment and our mistakes is a great learning process. We are glad to share our good practices to younger generation; specifically, the seven Japanese students and hope they do learn something from AEON.”, said Mrs. Sopheak, Deputy Store Manager of AEON Sen Sok City.
